I just have one question:  How in the hell did the predominantly rural, conservative states get tagged with “red,” and the largely urban, Leftist-saturated states get tagged with “blue?” What group of checkered-pants, country club Republicans let that slip by?  Oh, I know, they were out speculating on more land to put more golf courses on while smoking Cuban cigars...sorry, that was 2 questions and a mildly interogative comment...all I know is that Barry Goldwater and John Birch are turning in their graves…

    According to the below article it WAS the opposite colors until 2000 election.  Red, White, & Blue
