That little white flag IS the invite. I accepted on my laptop but not my desktop in case the SOB tries to automatically self-install.
And it’ll be a few months before I upgrade on the laptop simply because of the problems already faced due to their “forced updates” stance prohibiting users from not installing them.

I never got the invite because I run an AD domain at home. I downloaded my USB install this morning. As to doing the actual install, I need to check a bunch of program compatibilities for several computers first.
I’ll probably hold off for at least a month, just to see what happens to all the early adopters. I’m not willing to be a test case just yet.
Worked over at Microsoft a lot over the decades. I was there when they forced MS employees to finally install Vista to replace XP, which everyone knew was way better. Won’t install this for quite a few months at best. Let the early adopters walk the minefield first.
Agreed. I’m planning to wait until the very last day that it’s still free.
When they take XP out of my cold dead hands,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Or I install 7, whichever comes first.
installed it Sat.night....took about three hours to download and install. Played with it Sunday and Monday. Uninstalled it today. Not to my liking as it still has those tiles and seems to be aimed at the touchscreen crowd, of which I am not a member.
