Like A Good Neighbor?

  1. State Farm?  Must put them on the list of insurance companies that I will never, ever do business with ever again.  From what I’ve read SF and some other insurance companies have ridden the gravy train for decades and once they’ve been forced by circumstances to really pay out big time for claims have failed to provide coverage.  By doing that the insurance companies, have, in my opinion, defaulted on their end of the bargain and now deserve everything that comes their way.

“Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.” Now provides me with a bit of a chuckle.  With neighbors like that, who needs enemies?

  2. I am not defending State Farm (Haven’t used those cretins in 30 years) but - here’s an idea: Don’t build in areas that are under sea level! (Don’t thank me, just doing my job...)

  3. Does anybody know if these folks will be collecting from both FEMA and their insurance companies?  I thought FEMA was shelling out billions to rebuild these houses and stuff?

It does upset me that insurance companies were splitting hairs as to what destroyed the house first, flood or wind.

  4. The purpose of all insurance companies is to collect money in premiums and screw their customers over at claim time.  I don’t care what company it is or what kind of insurance it is.  This is one of the reasons why I keep a bloodsucking lawyer handy.  If and when I need my insurance company to keep their end of the bargain, he gets to handle it because I just don’t trust them to do it right on their own.

  5. State Farm’s also the outfit that got sued by multiple attorneys general over reselling salvage cars without getting salvage titles.  I used to think of them as one of the reputable insurers, but no longer....
