If you’re using just bulk oil stats, I agree. Libya supplies almost nothing.
But… (there’s always a ‘but’)
Libya supplies what is called ‘sweet light crude’ oil. That particular kind of oil is hard to replace.
Granted, I don’t know what or why the difference. I can’t imagine any petroleum being called ‘sweet’ or ‘light’. Crude certainly fits. Regardless, Libyan oil is hard to replace. I don’t know the different uses ‘sweet light’ oil is put to as opposed to ‘heavy’ crude oil. But I’ve been told they are put to different uses.
