  1. If only we had chosen the right guy last summer instead of the Massachusetts Squish. What Rick Perry had this to say today:
“In fact, the piling on by the political left, and their cohorts in the media, to use the massacre of little children to advance a pre-existing political agenda that would not have saved those children, disgusts me, personally. The second amendment to the Constitution is a basic right of free people and cannot be nor will it be abridged by the executive power of this or any other president.”

  2. Well Looky here:
The NYPD say two people were found shot dead inside a car in the Bronx.
Police responded to a 911 call of a person shot in front of 3328 Perry Ave. just after midnight. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman unconscious and unresponsive inside a parked car.
Both victims had a gunshot wound to the head.
They were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

“I guess they didn’t sign that law into place quick enough to save these folks,Imagine that”.

  4. Hey Look Guys and Gals, I found a solution to stupid Politicians. And it’s practical too:

  5. Zounds, I think I can work with a couple of misses now and then with the 7mmRM.  Rather build the skills anyway.

I have enough M855/SS109, as well as M193, M856, commercial .223, oh and all those other calibers, to stun, er, flatten an ox.  I’ll have to hand them over one at a time so we can get a good count.  “Hey, send more DHS guys.  I ran out.”

  6. I’ve got a shitpile of those .223 SS109 bulk bullets. I don’t load them into cases much because I don’t have a need for piercing any armor at the moment. Besides, IMHO hollow points or soft points transfer energy a bit better into “soft targets”. Wonder what they’ll be worth in a year or two?

  7. I am ready to hand over my ammo - one bullet at a time. The mags and clips are loaded, the defense strategy is thought out. The only question is how many will show up, and at which doors.

I wonder if this is how the German citizens felt in the late 1930s?

  8. I’m not convinced that a lead bullet powered by matches would put a hole through 1/2 of cast iron. Though cast is quite crystaline and not like steel. That said I have conducted some experiments with .17 and .223 and .243 rounds on steel plate 6mm thick. The smaller rounds at 100yds wont penetrate, but leave substantial impact craters. The .243 punches right through. Also it looks to me like the heat generated by the impact melts the steel or vapourises it. Personally I am not too worried about the bullets. The components you should worry about are powder and specifically primers. Bullets are easy enough to cast, but I think it would be pretty tricky for the average Joe to cook up primers or manufacture nitro powder.....Not that I am suggesting you would horde these things wink

  9. Lyndon, I agree. Lucky me to have >10,000 primers sitting around from the last “shortage” a couple years ago. Sometimes it rather feels like we’re being manipulated, oui?

How thick is the iron in a frying pan? I didn’t actually measure it back in 1974. But the slug did blast right through it, and I doubt if match power gave it much velocity. Then again, maybe it did; I have no way to compare the chemistry between matches and gunpowder.
