  1. I spent my military career maintaining aircraft air conditioning and pressurization systems. The airlines don’t have to recycle the cabin air but they choose to because of fuel economy.  To use fresh bleed air off the engines is uneconomical and they want to make all the money they can.  Myself, I would be willing to pay an extra $10-15 to have continually fresh air.
