  1. Why not let the Market establish the Correct Price for Oil?

Looks like Obama is trying to Manipulate the Market to help the Speculators and the Arab World at the Expense of the US Economy.

Just get the Government out of the Way and let the Drilling Begin.

Remember they said that any new well would not be able to produce Oil for at least ten years.

This market is only a temporary thing, Why not take the Longer View?

We may need that Oil in the Future.

  2. I know what I’d like to say, but wonder if I dare say it.

  3. Go ahead and say it Blake, we’re probably all thinking it.

The offshore oil is a huge supply that we need.  OPEC (think of Moslem countries and Venezuela - all big players) has had us by the short and curlies for over 30 years now.  It sucks.  The more of our own oil we pump, the less dependent we are.  We’ll never be completely independent, but we can mitigate the impact of OPEC.  Am I missing something?

I’m also still trying to figure out why the ethanol program is still going.  Methanol is cheaper and you can literally cook it out of garbage.  With ethanol, the energy to produce it is equal to or greater than the energy you get out of it.  It also drives up the price of food and cuts down on the available food.  Tell that to someone who’s hungry.  It’s more important to have an inefficient process that wastes food than it is to have an efficient process that uses up garbage.  That just isn’t right.
