Very nice Stan. He is one of my favorite people.
He used to play piano for Dean Martin, you know.
He played ay Noah’s wedding dude.
Stan,
Did you take that photograph of him???? Oh, wow.... what a stunning image! You should be a professional.
It is a perfect photograph.
Alas, I think you are having way too much fun.
That last pic… I see the old hippie, but who’s the guy with the long hair?
I saw Steppenwolf Sunday at the base of the Clearwater Beach bridge.
Born to be Wild.
Magic Carpet Ride.
Leon Russell - you’re lucky.
Yeah I took that picture. To quote Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen, who I also saw at the old Armadillo World Headquarters:
There’s a whole lotta things I ain’t never done, but I ain’t ever had too much fun…
Stan, is that man sitting next to you wearing a toupee? Or is that really his own hair? If it’s real, then that’s one awesome head of hair.
Own hair.
Z Woof,
You saw Steppenwolf?? Yipes! I saw him at Clemson back when I was in college.... He came out in black leather.....very tall guy, and stretched his legs out as he sang, and the girls went NUTS. So much pot in the arena you got stoned whether you were smoking or not. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Allman Brothers… Shew… Saw them about five times..... Love southern boogie..
Damn, sounds like a killer time, Stan! I’m sure he nailed “This Masquerade” as well.
Phoenix, just a clarification here. Steppenwolf was a band. Not knowing when you saw them, if it was after ‘76 the original band had already broken-up. From’76-’80 you could have been gyped because it was without John Kay, the original lead singer. During that time period two of the former band members were touring under the name Steppenwolf without John Kay, and it was in 1980 when Kay and original co-founder Jerry Edmonton put together a fresh band that began touring as John Kay and Steppenwolf. So between 76-80 your leather clad rocker was not John Kay. If it was between ‘68-’76 I’m sure the show kicked ass. Either way Steppenwolf was a band, not a person.
Right INC. I should of said I saw John Kay and Steppenwolf.
INC,
You are right. I saw John Kay. I just didn’t know his name. I should have said: “When that tall, leather-clad, lean, lead singer of the band Steppenwolf came out and stretched out and strutted and fretted his hours upon the stage, the girls went crazy.
