  2. We had this problem a few years back..seems that the “snake” would turn in the piping and go up the vent pipe, instead of following the drain.  (Perverse little bastid).

    Fed the snake down the vent (from the roof) and that cleared it.

    Probably a little late with the info, but maybe it’ll help.

  3. We used a bladder plug on the drain and then a bladder in the pipe and Blamo, clog was H i s t o r y.

  5. I think the rest of Rich’s bladder story is that the drain was then cleaned out with water pressure.

    I’ve been seeing these attachments for pressure sprayers, to use them as drain blasters. Makes a lot of sense to me, especially as you can blast grease build up with boiling water and a detergent at high pressure. I’d think you’d have squeaky clean pipes after that.
