  1. Does anyone ever wonder, as I often do, what might have happened if Truman had let Doug MacArthur do his job?  And complete his job?

The needlessness of such might-have-beens is the better part of their tragedy!

A stitch in time saves nine, indeed....

    wtf

  2. You want a Nuke?  Lucky YOU!  We got lots of ‘em!  (heh heh)

  3. MacArthur wanted to use nukes on the Chinese horde pouring over the Korean border. Truman forbid it.

Okay, there’d probably be no NKorea now. What else might have changed? I’m thinking that had the U.S. demonstrated more of a willingness to toss nukes around others might have gotten the same idea.

  4. Back to School

Professor Sam Kinison:  “SAY IT SAY IT”

Student Rodney Dangerfield: “OKAY I’LL SAY IT! TRUMAN WAS TOO MUCH OF A PUSSYWHIP TO LET MACARTHUR KICK THOSE RICE EATING BASTERD BACK ACROSS THE 38TH PARALLEL”
    -------------------------
Sums it up for me ....  Another unfortunate Asian land war. The difference from Vietnam—Stalin had the A-bomb, thanks to Rosenbergs et al, and gave N Korea the go-ahead to invade the South. Remember the innocent Rosenbergs?

  5. Oink

    “Princess Bride”:
Vizzini: ... You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is ”Never get involved in a land war in Asia”, but only slightly less well known is this: “Never go in against a Sicilian, when *death* is on the line.”. Hahahahahah.
    [Vizzini falls over dead]

  8. News Flash:  Pyongyang destroyed in accidental nuclear explosion, damage estimated at $29.95. Women and minorities particularly hard hit. Complete story on CNN at 11 PM.

  9. wink I say we air drop a million copies of “Team America, World Police” on North Korea.  Those folks need a good laugh, what better than to view their syphilitic, permed, platform shoe wearing benevolent leader in his retiree leasure jumpsuit whilst mocking our liberal scum/celebrities.  What an image!

  10. Good idea, Blondegenes. The problem is that they have nothing to play or view it on or the electricity to drive the devices. They’re not exactly stone age, but the regular people are mostly living a 19th century existence. EVERYTHING goes into their armed forces.

There were a few cellphone images that escaped the censorship after that big explosion they had at a rail terminal a while ago. It showed people hauling stuff around with horse drawn carts.

Rumsfeld has an overhead picture that shows the Korean penninsula at night. The South is well lit. The North is completely dark except for a few lights at Pyongyang, the Capital.

The answer might be windup dvd players and windup TVs dropped with the Team America movies. LOL
