Not OCM! I like him. I mostly disagree with him, but the Skipper did ban him once, I think. Or was it Mr. Christian? One of them banned a whole bunch of old regulars; OCM, Steele, the Twerp (oh, she’s back) etc. I’m not sure that banning is the best idea. BMEWS used to be far more, looking for the right word… flamboyant?
I recall some time back that I got into ‘it’ with Turtler. Things got heated. Nobody got banned. I just grew a thicker skin.
Looks like OCM bit the schnitzel…

Yeah but Christopher ... as angry as you both got, and there was I recall a misunderstanding, you guys managed to remain civilized. There was nothing civil about the person referred to here. He wasn’t flamboyant. Just crude and rude.
Sorry to hear that peiper. I can’t even recall what Turtler and I were arguing about.
Which shows that most of these unpleasant disagreements aren’t really worth arguing over. Just state your opinion and be done with it.
Drew did take me to task privately then. Must have been close to becoming uncivil. It was a well-deserved chewing out. I do my best to not take disagreements personally.
Man have a crappy week with your family being idiots again - and you miss it all. Dang it. Oh well. The good news is I got the entire contents of a storage unit of my Mom’s here (half in my garage and half in a unit down the street) - so except for the cousin who made it happen - the rest can go to hell. The cousin (his brother) who helped me move it here got 3 book cases (I really wanted them, but) and some other things for his effort. To find out that none of this had to happen & the estate could have been settled in Aug - because the lawyer (my uncle)did no work and used an old (2002) appraisal and the new one - which is why the Judge ordered an auction - so most of the ‘stuff’ will be auctioned off. And I am back to hating my family yet again. Stupid, stupid stuff. And now I have tons of books (the last load we brought down was mostly books, lots and lots of books). Oh my.

Serously though. OCM didn’t ‘stink up the flora’ on BMEWS. Opinions like his are needed on this site. My thinking is that “gadflys are necessary”. We need to be able to handle and argue with someone like OCM. Else we’re just ‘preaching to the choir’.
I still don’t know why OCM was banned. He could get pretty offensive and personal, especially when he was losing the argument. My only wish is that it’s a temporary ban?
But then, I’ve never been OCM’s target. We’ve managed to agreeably disagree.
I haven’t seen Turtler lately…
