What shutdown?
I go to the liquor store when I want and only today did I wait in line for 5 minutes to go in.
Supermarkets have no restrictions on volume of bodies that I’ve seen here at all.
Hardware store has easy access and no lines at all.
My friends with non food service business’s are working as normal.
Governor says lots of shit but enforcement is non existent.
But I will say it is annoying that any Fun shit to attend or do is totally Dead and that Blows.
But gas is $2.25 so All my cars are filled to max waiting for the Day and then it’s Yippee Ky A Motherfuckers.
Gas is $2.03 here and I know that it is grossly overpriced: gas in Minnesota is as low as $.078, and it’s below $1.79 in most of the country.
While we are in theoretical lockdown here, it seems quite capricious and arbitrary, which is what I’d expect from something entirely unconstitutional like this. The grocery stores are open, although at this point our commie governor has decreed that the customer count be at half capacity or less. So there’s a counting person at the door. Walmart is open in all departments. All the gas stations are open. All the booze stores open. All the restaurants are open for carry out only. The Chinese restaurant and the sushi joint have closed because they can’t get their supplies, which come from NYC. Home Depot and Lowes are open. Movie theaters, yoga studios, gyms, bowling alleys, nail salons, barbers are closed. Any place where you stay in close proximity to other people for more than 5 minutes or so all got shut down.
I don’t know about the service businesses. Traffic is just about zero in town and on the street behind us. I am not seeing the Terminex truck, the roofing guy, the gutter guy, the plumbers and electricians ... all the “pickup truck” workman scale small businesses. Nowhere. I do see some of the landscapers going around though. Cutting the grass must be an essential service. Nearly everyone who works in a corporate office is working from home. Non essential medical care, like opticians, are closed for now.
