  1. What makes this interesting to me is that despite a 1700 year difference, we still solve the problem of providing light the same way. That looks no different than my trusty Coleman lantern.

  2. As I remember you couldn’t scuff the dirt with your toe in the UK and not uncover something Roman.  It was so cool!

  3. I for one am not going to suggest you make travel plans to pompeii because if something ill happenned to you or the wife Id feel like dirt.

  4. Pompeii in October. I loved it. Actually, any part of Italy in October is nice. I also like Germany in the winter, even though it’s slippery and cold.. Any excuse for a shot of Schnapps at the local GuestHaus. Castles look nice in the snow! France? Never again, enough said.
    Just a thought…
