  1. It’s DOUBLE JEOPARDY Drew...............Not Double indemnity.

Knox may or may not be guilty, that’s not the point. She should be protected by the constitution.

    However,

With Holder and Obungler at the helm anything could happen. Remember with them there is no constitution, just the Communist manifesto!

  2. I agree - they convicted her, she served time and then THEY set her FREE over new evidence. It doesn’t have a thing to do with our Constitution - it has to do with HUMAN RIGHTS - is Italy becoming a communist state that can snatch people whenever, wherever they are to put them in jail again and again?

And Britain - shame on you, if you are behind this - yes, it is tragic that a person died and yes, it sucks that the two people (probably) involved in this - but given what I remember from the articles on this story - these were 3 people (or was it 4) headed for disaster (which normally occurs when young people are free in different cultures without parental controls) - and obviously there is enough doubt that no one in the criminal justice system can pinpoint exactly who did the deed.

You tried to find a perpetrator and that backfired on you - either go and assess the entire case again (if there is no statute of limitations on murder in Italy) or give up or perhaps charge someone else and see what happens then.

Wasn’t drugs/drug use involved - what do most prosecutors say about have users/addicts as witnesses? Sucks to be you.

  3. Wardmom, I don’t believe the Brits have anything to do with this.

There is no DOUBLE JEOPARDY recognized in Italy btw.

The problem here Drew and all others is, we (the USA) and Italy have an extradition treaty.
Now that’s a real problem so far.

I’m not even thinking we should honor it in this case btw. But the press here (without taking sides in what I read) have laid out the problems fairly well.

The Italian prosecution fumbled the ball from the beginning with poor or no direct evidence.
According to the papers, even what they did have was badly contaminated.
Anyway, even if convicted again, don’t look for an extradition early.  It would take YEARS and by then be dropped. But Drew is right. This should NOT be happening in the first place.
AND ... her lawyers are certain to bring up the issue of her being originally questioned WITHOUT translators present.

I think there might be a bit of back and forth between our govts. if she found guilty again, but really, I doubt much more will come of it.  Except great expense to her family. In which case, perhaps they could sue the Italian prosecution?

  4. Ah, I should have read the comments sooner!  Yeah, I realized my goof, came back and fixed it, but my adroit and well-educated readers had already spotted it!

my bad. First cup of coffee and Robin Meade in knee boots and a stretchy tight red dress is no excuse.

  7. The rotten thing is in the socialist utopia of eurostan and member country can extradite you from another just like that so if the present government of the USA (I cannot express my contempt for socialists any more) dont screw her then she had better keep out of all of the damn place! The traitors ruining England were happy to sign up for this shit!
