It’s being called, “Pink Diplomacy” and yes , the taxpayer will fund it. Like there’s a choice?

  1. I don’t feel like going in and editing this but I forgot something.

When I said that their pink flag and their agenda doesn’t represent the whole country, to be fair and honest about it, these highly visual people do not even represent the entire homosexual community. I have read columns by them and they are offended as well as embarrassed. I think it’s important to add that. To not do so would be to act like a liberal.

  2. Somebody should put that banana where the sun doesn’t shine. Milibrain is the son of a marxist so it’s no surprise he supports terrorism. The sooner these vermin are removed from office the better.

  3. Actually Peiper, save for the idiots they put in charge, the rather foolish way they intend to go about doing so, and the extremely immoral quote at the end, I think they might actually be on to something. And while I am- granted- probably a minority here in that I support gay marriage, this thing could actually be effective if used in the right way.

With the key phrase being “if used in the right way.”

Now, let’s face facts here: even those amongst us who are not big fans of homosexual marriage or even of homosexuality in general usually are hardly the types to go around advocating that they be locked up or worse just because. The simple fact is that even beck in the day, Homosexuals were nowhere near as persecuted in the West than they were (and are) elsewhere, with at worst there being some minor, poorly-enforced laws against them. This is in no small amount due to the fact that our traditions of individual liberties apply to gays as well.

So, in other words, most of those nations that would be targeted by this would have pretty suckey human rights records in general in addition to being biased against gays. Even better, many of them are direct threats to us: China, Iran, Syria, Russia, and the NorKs.

The need to wage the War on Terror on a humanitarian/reform level has been a cornerstone of Anti-Jihadist thought for quite some time, as shown by the fact that you aired Pat Condell’s cry for the emancipation of Muslim women from the sexist tyranny of the Islamist traditions that have shackled them for so long. So, if we cry for the emancipation of Muslim women, why not for the emancipation of Homosexuals?

The fact is that when we are dealing with such insular and xenophobic crackpots like the Mullahs, such pressure can help get under their skin and get a few more cracks in to their stability and capabilities, like the Soviets learned towards the end of their existence.

So I think we should support such a movement against undue persecution of homosexuals, because let’s face it: we need all the help we can get, and it might help make the Homosexual community see the light in regards to our enemies abroad.

Unfortunately, I think this particular itineration is doomed. The simple fact is that they are not doing so as proud Westerners who desire to help others gain the freedom we enjoy so much, but as hyper-political homosexuals who might not even care about the issue were it not for this. They could do quite a bit of good if they play their cards right, but knowing them, they will only offend and overreact and make the job even more difficult for us.
    .
Still, given refinement and a change of staff, and it could be a potent help for Democracy.

An absolutely absorbing and riveting program on BBC4 (Radio) the other night. Called “Crossing Continents” it focused on the close (VERY) relationship between Chavez and Iran.

Venezuela apparently has a growing muslim population, and the deals being made between Venz. and Iran are growing.  Tons of workers and “advisers” from Iran working in the country, and also apparently Venezuela has uranium deposits Iran may be interested in.
For peaceful use of course. If anyone really believes that.
Truly fascinating stuff never covered by American radio because I guess there isn’t any interest back home in that sort of radio.
If I find a link to that program I’ll fall by here again and post it. Can’t embed the show and not even certain it’s available outside the UK and Europe. ??

You may need to download Realplayer though. Most of BBC radio is available on the iPlayer service but not tv.
