  1. Drew I find this very sinister. In Britain the police have a database called PNC the Police National Computer which is supposed to list “offenders” it’s pretty crap in my experience, but something which cropped up recently gave me cause for concern. In the UK I had a firearms and shotgun license. Five years ago I submitted a request to my local police for a check on the PNC so I could show to the interested party that I did not have a criminal record. It came back clear as I knew it would.

Recently I have had to submit another request. It came back clear again, but this time there was an entry under the subject. No convictions, but I noticed it now listed my height. Hmmm I thought. Where would they have got that information? Well a bit of digging reveals the Home Office has decided to link up the PNC to the Home Office database of firearms owners. There are further moves to put all health records on line. Now lets say I go to the Doctor feeling unwell and he diagnoses I am depressed for arguments sake. How long will it be before the Stasi are banging on the door demanding I hand my guns in?

Not that it is much better in Canada. You still have to register your guns with a big brother database. They are much more sensible about gun ownership for now. Unfortunately the liberal wankers are trying to unseat the Conservatives in Ottowa and we all know how much liberals hate free thinkers who own guns so I predict trouble there in the not too distant future.

  2. This opens up so many floodgates and red flashing warnings of the evils of Nationalizing, Computerizing & requiring Federal __________(fill in the blank - license, registration, purchase lists, etc) of firearms. Or much else.

I’ve forever been against the ‘computerizing’ of medical records - for in the Army when just the labs went to it - I would have to go through my records once a month to pull out someone elses lab results. But even worse is the potential for who (Insurance company, ‘quality of life’ police) to go through medical records to flag those of us who are potential medical drains (i.e. medical trainwrecks just about to go off the tracks for good) and/or to use against you in particular situations - i.e. to hold a past treatment, oh say, for depression against a job applicant or firearm purchase. And of course past use of certain medication is being indicated to refuse a now/future firearm purchase.

There is absolutely nothing positive, good or worthwhile to be gained by the Nanny State and when it goes computerizedwell only the citizens stand to lose.

  3. Oh yeah I forgot, did you hear the stink being raised on the Plaxico Burress stupidity - this jackass is the kind who give responsible gun owners a bad name. Instead of doing a gun safety PSA (since he could have very easily nicked his femoral artery and this just been a ‘tragic’ fatal accident story) - he’s bitching about how being a ‘great’ football star he doesn’t feel safe and needs to carry a gun.

On our local morning talk, a guy stumbled on the right track of this story - You can take the Thug out of the Hood, but you can’t take the hoodlum out of the Thug.

While I am against the stupid laws that will probably send this moron to jail - I hope he goes.

Just like Vick - these Thugs need to learn that their lifestyle is wrong and to stop being so stupid when they finally (after probably a dozen passes and breaks given along the way) make it.

Not to mention how many young men get passed over for a high school, college or even Pro chance to these idiots who take it and then throw it away because they think they still can live the Thug Life? And of course there is the number of young boys ‘looking’ up to these Thug ‘heroes’.

I do however, blame the Pro Leagues for not kicking these scum to the curb - here in Cincy it is one of greatest problems - they keep letting these guys play and then oops, another bust. It is such a waste, such a shame.
