Hmmm… why is it that, to so many people apparently, the concept of “Do ONE thing, *correctly*, until it’s done, and then go on to the next one,”.... why is that concept so difficult for some people to get their minds around? I don’t think I’ll ever understand.
Maybe it’s cos of one of the sayings I grew up with:
“If you can’t take the time to do it right, how will you find the time to do it again?”
Wish we could Trade with you down here in Florida.. although you might like the rain even with the delays its causing compared to the Drought and Fires here..
Well - not to bring any more crap on the business that I’ve made my living in for 26 years, but if you really want to screw these guys, make a complaint to OSHA. By the looks of your photographs the installers are using the latest OSHA approved aluminum pump jack system but have failed to install the required guardrail, or tie off points for a body harness and lanyard. If they really piss you off you could hammer them with some more photographic documentation showing them working without any guardrail or being tied off.
Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand OHSA. But one of the very few things that they have got right is the fall standards that have been implimated. When I first started in construction in 1982 everyone that I knew disreguarded any kind of fall protection, today fall protection is at the front of any job I’ve done at the insistence of subcontractors. Fall protection has saved my fat ass a couple of times. It’s not a bad thing for the Fed’s to pursue if thier going to pursue anything.
