IT IS ST. GEORGE’S DAY IN ENGLAND, APRIL 2008. Does anyone care?

I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game’s afoot:

Cry ‘God for Harry, England, and Saint George!’Peiper, I have looked at this story several times, and for some reason, being from New England USA, all That comes to mind is the Witch Trials of Salem Massachusetts. Could it be that this trait came from our founding fathers in the UK?
