  1. Only one thing is certain.  If this Lexus-level panhandling comes to anything, amphibians will have a number of vastly over-salaried “protectors.”

    cool smirk

  2. My lake has a bunch also.  And I have to watch for toads whenever I mow.  My gang of little amphibians seem to be thriving.  They are deafening in the early spring, when the little peepers hatch.

The bullfrogs were quiet last night during the thunderstorms—that Big Bullfrog in the Sky was angry.

  4. Lets see Iraq, Katrina, (and coming to a ocean front property real soon!!) Rita and we are supposed to cough up $400+ million for frogs? Hang on.....

Sorry...I had to change the wine in my bong. It must be gettin’ funky ‘cause surely I didn’t read that correctly!!

  5. I say transfer that money into relief activities for New Orleans.

Additionally, all so-called environmental funds not yet expended should also be directed towards flood relief operations for all of the areas impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

  6. I strongly object to sending ANY money to France. Damned cheese eating surrender monkeys

  7. I say take the money from Katrina “victims” and give it to the frogs.  At least they will appreciate it more.  They may even like the plasma TV’s we can send them as well.  At least the frogs contribute to society (eating mosquitos and other bothersome insects) whereas most of the “colorful” peoples in New Orleans will continue to contribute nothing and be a drain on society.

  8. Ain’t no conservation group gonna get any of my money as long as I have any control over it. The group can hop on outta here, or better yet just croak.

  9. HOWEVER, if it was the oyster, shrimp, okra, and fish that were threatened, THEN The Skipper would be calling for a massive Federal Bailout ... THE HOMELAND GUMBO SECURITY ACT.

  13. OCM - I think I want to come out to Colorado to catch the frogs and praying mantis’ - spent a great many moments in my childhood catching salamanders and frogs in a pond & stream on our property.  We also could find the large praying mantis in our woods..........I was a tomboy at heart - could climb trees with the best of the neighbor boys - played backyard baseball - damn- those were the good ole days................. smile But we always had to be in the house when the 7pm whistle blew from our town fire station...........
