3. I keep hoping that in this time of cell phones, the InterNet and 24/7/365 tv - that it indeed will be the Women and Children who rise up and say Enough to this throwback, barbaric and stupid cult.

   My son (__) [won’t fill in the blank to protect him always]in Saudi Arabia - he is turning full scale into an anti-islamist (after having served in OIF and saying very nice things about them, hmmmm).

   There is no redeeming value in this ‘radicalness’ at all.

   I’d say we should sever all ties with SA - but alas, it is truely all about the oil.

   Well then, why are you still driving a car? That’s an innovation. So is your air conditioning. So are your TV and radio stations. So is your refrigerator, your doctor’s methodology, your trade agreements, your concepts of hygiene. So is your indoor plumbing.

5. Got that right Grumpy. Nothing but camel hide tents and mud walls from now on. No prepared food, no refrigeration, no medicine beyond leeches and opium. No telephones, no mail service. No cars, no electricity, no TV or radio. No paved roads. All water comes from a hole in ground brought up by a leather bucket. Farming will henceforth be done with a single oxen pulling a wooden plow. No fertilizer other than animal waste is allowed. You may cook, but cooking fires will be made from dung. No modern stoves that run on gas, no imported wood to burn. You get one pot, made from crudely cast iron.

   Anyone who takes the smallest offense against your nation is allowed to invade and ravage your population as much as they want until their “honor” is appeased. Actually they’re allowed to invade and ravage just for the hell of it. If you can’t stop them using arrows and swords, then tough shit. Any weapon more modern than a sling is an innovation, and you don’t need any of them.
