  1. Don’t forget the recent successful elections in Afghanistan too, OCM. That’s Fifty Million people in charge of their own countries and future.

I’m guessing your “retraining order” wasn’t successful. Don’t worry, we’ll try to retrain you. wink

I kicked Reuters to the curb two years ago, Skipper. Deleted them from the news boards I read. AP has gotten close to the same fate more than once, too.

  2. No fly speck on my tongue, OCM. It was firmly in my cheek. Yep, I took advantage of your typo, I thought to good effect. wink

Look at who’s getting online to stop the killing. It’s the same folks who provided the security for the elections. That’s right, the Iraqi Police and the Iraqi Army. U.S. forces were only used for backup, should they be needed, and for air patrols. Again! Not much, if any, mention of that aspect in the MSM, either.

Don’t give me the MSM crap about there only being one Iraqi Division ready to operate fully independently either. There were three Divisions that qualified until we changed the criteria. You won’t see that little tid-bit in the MSM either. Much like the ballyhooing about the shortfall in military recruiting. They never tell you that the recruiting goals were raised and when every service but the Army meets their new goals they won’t tell you that either. Just pound away on the negative. Don’t fall for it.

  3. Hey Kerr...that brings up a good point. Since we changed the combat readiness criteria for Iraq’s armed forces, I now wonder, under the old Soviet-style system they used under Saddam, how many battalions would be considered as “Level 1”?

Probably all of them! But then again that’s why we’re training them now.

  4. Hmm, dunno about the old Soviet system. There’s a better than even chance that none of them would qualify under the new criteria. They were quickly disorganized both times that they were engaged by real armies and air forces.

  5. Now, how does one scream “Bush stole the election” in Arabic question  Inquiring crazy moonbats need to know…
