  1. Have you guys seen this link? Restaurant manager fired for hitting robber with a hammer...he feared for his life and the lives of his employees, took action, and got canned.

    I’ll never eat there again.

  2. Man, that LJS story is fucked up, but it IS company policy that the employees “comply with the robbers”, as idiotic as that is. I still don;t think the dude should’ve been fired given the circumstances.
Anyways, don’t worry.. I have no plans on reading the New York Times or watching CBS.. or ABC, or CNN, or read the Chicago Tribune.. the Chicago Sun Times,.. the Peoria Journal Star, etc.

  3. Maybe I’m just in a protestful mood—but I’ll never eat there again.

  4. Vilmar, that was a good link, I had to get rid of a Anti-Cheney ad 3 times before I got to read that subtley biased story. Thanks

  5. In ‘95 I was a closer at a “Speedway"-a local gas station/convenience store. I was a stocker and had to do a lot of traipsing around outside in a very badly lit area.
On one of my off nights, some gang bangers attacked an old man who had accidentally bumped into them at the register.
When I heard about it, I refused to come into work until the company provided security at night. I was told basically “So what if someone got attacked. It wasn’t one of us.” Needless to say, I didn’t go back.
I also worked at LJS. lucky me.

  6. I may have left parts of one in California, Virginia, Portugal, England, Texas, or Greece.  Hmm, maybe Korea.  Or Saudi Arabia.

Hell, the poor dry cleaners in those places MUST all think I am dead.

Think I should tell CBS to go investigate to see if they can find those missing uniform items?

  7. I, for one, enjoy reading The New York Sunday Times every weekend..........I find that the writers invoke an interesting concept in their columns.  The only other newspaper I read from front to back is my daily local St. Louis Post Dispatch as that is all I have the time for.  I read Newsweek also.  I get a lot of other magazines, mostly of interest to me- Nursing journals, mags from New England- Down East & R.I. Magazine,& Yankee.  I also read cover to cover the National Geographic & Better Homes and Gardens. And just for the hell of it I read Vanity Fair. Jesus H. Christ- I think I need to go pitch all those magazines I’ve saved, thinking I might need it someday!!!!  I also have about 30 books I haven’t read yet- I think I must be spending too many hours online!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!

  8. Hey Vilmar, you’re missing the boat on this one. Tell everybody that when ever they
pass by a NYT machine to pay for one, take ‘em all and shitcan ‘em.
