Sounds good to me - I’m narrowing down to Fred and Mike - Imagine the ticket - then at least we’d have a decent VP to run in 2012 or 2016.
Fred/Mike in 2008. It is time to put Adults in Charge. Conservative Adults at that.
I very much like all of these ideas. And as for the Minutemen? And the Border Patrol? And the “National Guard"(notice the quotes)? DEFEND OUR NATION!!!!!!!!!!!! And I’ll put my signature here..."Remember your oath of enlistment? REMEMBER YOUR OATH OF ENLISTMENT!”
Wardmama, I might have to go with Mike/Fred instead. I’m still up in the air.
This plan of Fred’s is good, but it only differs from Huckabee’s in a few details. I’ve been catching these GOP debates, watching for the Fred-olution to take fire, and I’m not seeing it. I am seeing that Huckabee is fully energized and positive, with lots of ideas. I guess I’m a bit of a Luddite, but I only found his interviews with Glenn Beck on YouTube today, and I am impressed by what I saw. So as much as I like what little I have heard from Fred at this point, I can easily also say “I like Mike”.
Guiliani is a nasty little weasel. I don’t think he is at all sincere. Or a Republican.
Ron Paul has some interesting ideas, but he comes off like a whiney nutcase.
Romney seems too slick for me. Too much of a politician, which means I don’t trust him.
Hunter? Can’t tell ya; I’ve got to look this guy up to find out who he is. He’s said some things I like the sound of, but thinking back trying to remember what they were, I can’t. So I guess he hasn’t enraptured me yet.
McCain? Too old, too tired, too much of a Beltway Insider. Too Maverick. Too bad.
Tancredo? I like his take on border security and immigration, but like Hunter, I’ve got to hunt down more on him.
There’s gotta be a problem in Fred’s program somewhere. It just seems too simple, basic and right.
Drew - Yes after the last debate I really like Mike -
I do like Fred - I just feel that he is more known and mainstream enough to take the ticket (which is why I put him first).
I feel Guiliani is not a Republican either - and yes the GWOT is important - but. . .isn’t he for gun control?
I just worry about Romney - heading that bastion of crapweasels - MA - worries me to death - RHINOs seem to be a dime a dozen these days and I think he is their Leader.
Ron Paul - he (last debate) tied too much in America (being a problem & unsolvable) to being in Iraq - sorry if money is an issue, cut the damn pork and earmarks first - then we can talk. And his people come off sounding like true barking moonbats. Of course his ‘I never automatically trust anything the government does’comment exposes his stupidity big time.
Hunter and Tancredo are being silenced by the media into one ‘issue’ candidates - I’d take Hunter over Tancredo simply on his military standing - got to have a Commander-in-Chief who ‘gets’ it.
McCain lost me by siding with Jf***Kerry to turn on the POWs/MIAs, for joining with Feingold to turn lose the like of Soros on our political system and just for crossing the aisle once too many times.
I still say it is a shame that the entire field (D & R) are the best America has to offer - don’t think so at all - I think that the system is so corupt and controled that this is the best that will run. Big difference.
Giuliani is a RINO, and a yankee. Romney is not quite such a RINO, it seems, but still another yankee. FRED! rocks. Federalist who believes the Constitution is inviolable, and a nations borders are just that. You can come in the front door, but knock on the door first. You sneak in the back door, and we reserve the right to shoot. As, it seems, do Mike and Tom. Personally my choice would be Thompson/Tancredo for the ticket. But do please remember we’ve got to get through the primaries yet. Whatever you do, get out and vote for a decent candidate! Then we can worry about the general after we’ve picked our candidate.
