If that’s an actual photo of your work…well done!
Don’t suppose you’d consider moving to Dayton Ohio? Be nice to have a decent handyman available. Besides meself, don’t ya know.
Seriously, seems that every time I find a decent handyman to call on he either:
a) dies
b) gets divorced, then dies
c) gets divorced, then moves
d) the State finds him. He’s not ‘regulated’. Which leads back to a, b, or c.
I’m actually a pretty good handyman. It’s just not something I enjoy doing. But I’ve done it.
When I bought this house it needed some work. We found that most of the house was on one breaker. We found this because if the air conditioner was running, and my wife ran her hair dryer, the breaker would pop. After tracing out the wiring, I found that the living room, dining room, kitchen, two upstairs bedrooms, and the bathroom, were all on the same breaker. No wonder! I installed two new breakers in the breaker panel, and then painstakingly ran new wiring to split the rooms to different breakers.
I actually hate working with live electrical panels, but I’d done it in my Navy days. I did insist that my wife work with me. I had a rope tied around me and she was told to haul me away if I was electrocuted. Just like in the Navy.
Ditto on the door job. Now all you need is some sawdust on the floor, a few dancing girls, and Miss Kitty behind the bar.
If you’re tired of the rain please send it our way. We’re drying up and blowing away - or burning up, as the case may be - down here in Texas.
CenTex, you can have it all, with my blessings. I am sick to death of the soggy.
And yeah, that’s my work.
The only problem with rain in TX is that it just runs off after two nanoseconds and simply causes floods.
If you consider Dayton - we got a bit of work here in Cincy.
My son’s m-i-l is a wonder with wood - I just wish we had some free cash to get her to do some things for us.
Can’t believe that back in the day - I used to finish furniture (it is why my kitchen table, inlaid wood and all - handmade) has never stood without a padded table cloth upon it - one of these days we’ll get rid of kids and let it be seen), embroidery, sewed clothing and household decorations and even did some ceramics in there and of course the gardening of late.
Now I can’t seem to do much beyond cleaning and cooking. It sucks to grow old.
