  3. Now that its fixed you and everyone here( american that is) should read this. It won’t make you feel any better about Ocrapcare but it might give you a shred of hope as to how its going to crash and burn:

  4. Christopher .... your story reminds me of something in the same vein and I swear this is true.  When we first moved here in 04, I brought my laptop with me and had the right transformer for the electric here. Signed up with the biggest telecom here who also provided the phone number for the wife’s mom who was still around at the time, and so didn’t change anything.
Signed on and things worked well for a day or two and then ... signal started drop out. Poof, gone with the wind except there wasn’t any. So called ISP giant and out they came did this and that and rewired this and that and things worked for another day or two. At the most.
The the connection to the web went away in the breeze again. Came back and went away.
Another call to the ISP giant who then sent out another engineer (as they are referred to)who pretty much did what the first fellow did and added a thingy or 2.
Things went well for another day and bang. Things started dropping again so they sent out a third guy from my ISP which by then seemed less of a giant and more like a dwarf.

This whole process I’m describing went on for almost four weeks. They even replaced the phone line from the pole to the house.

Well ... the very last guy they sent out asked me if I had a broom.  Well hell.  What house does not have at least one of those?
I thought perhaps he wanted to sweep our walk but that looked okay. The porch was clean too, so I couldn’t think why he wanted a broom.

So anyway, he was outside my window from behind which sat my pc.  I was on line, connected to the net, success.  He lightly tapped the line and asked me if I was still on. Nope.
He was a young kid too. He looked like a teen but of course must have been at least 20. Anyway, every time he tapped that line the connection died. Because it was loose to begin with and nobody caught that.  One part of something that connects to the house, just wasn’t secured.

Haven’t had a prob. since even in the worst of our high winds.
