3. Dr Jeff I have to concur. I actually work for these half wits and this story doesn’t surprise me at all. In 2001 in Dover there were hundreds of people arriving every day from France. Mostly Afghans, Iraqis and Iranians. Our glorious leaders were unable to put them back on a boat to France as they had signed a treaty which made it law that the country responsible for “asylum” was where they entered Europe. They usually came via Turkey into Bulgaria and made their way across numerous European borders, but were either not detected, or if they were the police turned a blind eye. To get over the problem Britain effectively moved its border to France. The US does a similar thing in Canada with US immigration officers working at Canadian airports and vice versa. French police now work in Britain and British immigration work in France. Obviously they can’t catch everyone, but it has stopped a lot of it (at enormous expense) What should have happened is the French should have been compelled to take these people back but the government was too spineless.

   Oh and lest you think these are all poor oppressed victims of persecution nothing could be further from the truth. The Afghans used to say they were fleeing from the Taliban till the US kicked them into touch. The Iraqis were all victims of Saddam till he got his comeuppance. They are invariably male aged 16-30 and to give you an idea of how much they appreciate our Western hospitality when the Twin Towers were crumbling these bastards were cheering. That’s the kind of people they are.
