I want more handouts, says 18-year-old mother-of-three who left her £1m home.

  1. With the new higher tax rate on high earners encouraging them to emigrate to other countries, combined with more and more people like this becoming life-long drains on government handouts, something’s going to give, and I know how this goes:  The government, unable to make all those payments simply stops.  The welfare-handout types protest, become violent, smash stores, riot, etc… But the money’s not there for them anymore.

They quickly come to the conclusion that if they want to eat, they have to work.  Assuming the crisis doesn’t devolve into complete government and private sector collapse, it will come around to something resembling sanity once again.

But I think this falls under the heading of “It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.”

    Oh, back to Catherine Scott:

“she is demanding a better home from the council and more handouts”

I believe the only sane and correct response to that demand is “Fuck off.”

  2. Tiger, yeah but there’s another issue and according to some police committee report last week, they say look for an increase in crime by as much as 20 to 25 percent. Burglaries, armed robbery, fraud etc.  Not a very nice or comforting prediction.

To make matters even worse, there’s a followup article of some kind in morning paper which I have to read again but they say some crimes, like burglary for example, might not be a jailable offense depending on the person. Crazy. Like, maybe the gremlin was high on something or strung out and needed a fix. Oh, a lessor term in the pokey or perhaps none at all unless violence was used and violence against the elderly may carry a stiffer sentence.

Whats with that? I’m all for punishing ppl like that but does it mean one can beat the crap out of a 25 yr old and get less?  It reads that way.
Why has the world gone so far over the top that they (left mostly) can not see it’s self defeating and doesn’t make folks safer in their homes or on their street.
