  1. Glad to hear you are yours are OK. Keep an eye on your wife, stress and loss of her mother can be debilatating. I know.

Now that it is all over, start looking at garage sales for a small gas engine 3-5 HP - 4 stroke. It should be about $20 and look at DIY generator kits using an old alternator, about $50, plus a power inverter. You should be able to make a generator for less than $150.

Get an old catalytic heater that runs on white gas too, I got mine from ebay for $30.

Warm and toasty with power for lights for under $200.

  2. Glad you didn’t get too badly hit. Coleman lantern would be worth buying it will run on unleaded gas at a pinch. Stay safe Drew!

  4. Glad to hear that you survived! I mean, this was supposed to be the ultimate trauma of all times according to TEH WON. This was supposed to be how it saved the earth, unlike Shrub. Seriously though, very glad to hear it was no worse than it did end up.

  5. Welcome back man.  I finally got a call from my old friend in Belmar.  Lots of damage and it may never be the same, no power, but they got cell service back.  The house is intact and dry but the town and the beach front are decimated.  Thank god they’re all ok.
