  8. I guess it all depends on your bud TPDH Rich. I’m rather flexible on my gun positions; on the one hand I think people should be allowed to own artillery, but on the other hand I can see limiting 2A rights to arms you can bear; ie., if you can’t lift it you and carry it 100 yards uphill can’t own it (with special exemptions for wheelchair and walker folks). On the third hand I think people should be fully liable for the damage their weapons do, assuming such damage wasn’t done in the course of a self defense action. That includes shrapnel damage, flash burns and hearing loss.

I could use a bit of educating when it comes to hunting rules and regs, so I can find a balance point between the “leave Bambi alone forever!!” viewpoint and the “kill ‘em all whenever ya want” view.

Concealed and open carry? All for it, as long as it’s not allowed for full blown loonies and recalcitrant violent felons out on probation. Unjustified “brandishing” in public? Class II felony and a $10,000 fine.

Cartridges for hunting? Right now I think the proper ones should have an impact energy at 100 yards of at least 9 times the weight of an animal. eg, a 150lb deer gets hunted with a bullet that can generate 1350 lb/ft or more of energy at 100 yards. This would help eliminate game lost to hunters “not using enough gun”, especially if such a rule came with minimum SD requirements for the game hunted. Granted, the energy requirement wouldn’t be linear as the size of the animal increased, but the increasing SD would. I also think, that should licenses be required, there should be a marksmanship qualification aspect, maybe like what they have up in Norway or Sweden with their running moose target test. Whatever it takes to cut down on slob hunters I am for, as long as it doesn’t get to the asinine level.

Ok, that ought to be enough to get a good fight discussion going with TPDH and anyone else, so sign him up!

As Cactus Mark can attest, even though he thought it was an annoying pain in the ass, all you have to do is send me an email to become a member. Give me the screen name you want, and the log-in name you want; just don’t make your screen name foul or porny.

Yes, it’s been a while since we have had any new folks join, but I’m cool with that. I was getting buried under an avalanche of false applications and I can’t see any point in signing up new folks who aren’t going to have anything to say. You don’t have to be a member to read any of the posts, so if you want to join the throng it’s worth a tiny bit of effort on your part. It’s a lot more work creating a new member on my end, but I do it willingly.

  9. Hey, I don’t have ALL the answers. More than 1 10-day paper at a mental care facility? Some sort of pre-existing permanent or long term adjudication on their mental state?

Notice that I said full blown. The half blown ones I’m probably Ok with.

  10. Anyone who agrees with LIBERALS or CONSERVATIVES 100% of the time is a FOOL.

OCM, you’re a fool if you don’t think it possible.

    Time is fluid.

    Ask again tomorrow.
