  1. I’m fascinated by this technology and the idea of big guns. The Nazis were working on a massive gun (not powered by electricity) that would have been able to hit London from France. It was a big enough concern that the Allies developed a bomber that could be radio-controlled with the hope of crashing it into the gun. JFK’s brother, Joe Jr, was killed during a test of the plane.

    Saddam tried to build a big gun inside a pit that could roll in a circle as to hit Iran or Israel depending on who he was angrier at. The man who was building it was killed by Mossad.

    The application I’d like to see is one of these shooting satellites into orbit or shooting space junk out of orbit. The power consumption for one of these on a ship would demand a nuclear reactor and I don’t think we have any nuclear-powered ships other than carriers and subs.
