How stupid are you?

  1. I am not believing this. Not a bit of it. I’m asleep and having a nightmare. Yeah. That must be it.

OK ... the celeb thing?  Well, we better bone up on that stuff cos the way it looks, they may be voted into high office one day by the very kids you’ve just seen here.

This HAS to be a gag.  You know ....  this sort of thing pops up all the time. Same format but different players.

I can’t believe a black kid said Confederates in answer to who won.  For a minute there my old heart soared to the heavens and I thought ,,, WE actually did win after all? Then I woke up.

Spotted a huge and beautiful fox on front lawn last night. Night light lit him up, no time for camera. That was my high point til I heard we’d won that war and caught a newer high only to come back down. But the fox was nice.

  2. ... you know, we DO have that category label “Stoopid-People”, which is probably close enough to “idiot” for all but the most categorically challenged and the irony resistant spelling nazis.

  3. ... and they vote.

  4. The dumbing down of America is nearly complete.  I’ve got to wonder if any of these fools will ever go back and find out what the real answers are.  You’d think at least the Black students would know about the Civil War.  Some people think it’s sort of an important turning point in the history of Black people in this country.  I guess it’s just easier to hate Whitey than it is to learn history.

In the meantime, over at the Christian Science Monitor, they’ve posted the 100 question citizenship test, given to all immigrants who want to become U.S. citizens.  I found a few of the questions disturbing.

Question #17 asks for Rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights.  Option #1, the Right to Bear Arms is the wrong answer.  Did anyone tell them about the Supreme Court decisions?

    17. What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

    1) to bear arms

    2) to vote

    3) speech

    3) trial by jury

In the present circumstance, #19, where the correct answer is that we are a capitalist country may not be wholly accurate at this time.

#86 about Federal Holidays is interesting.  The correct answer is #3, Labor Day and Thanksgiving, but you really have to consider #2 April Fool’s Day and Labor Day.  Especially after the union coal workers voted for Obama, it really seems appropriate.

    86. Name two national U.S. holidays.

    1) Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day

    2) April Fool’s Day and Labor Day

    3) Labor Day and Thanksgiving

    4) Citizenship Day and Columbus Day

Question #92 “What are two rights in the Declaration of Independence?” is just blatantly wrong.  We have no rights in the Declaration of Independence.  Except for removing us from British rule, the Declaration of Independence has no legal standing.

    92. What are two rights in the Declaration of Independence?

    1) liberty and justice

    2) life and pursuit of happiness

    3) life and right to own a home

    4) life and death

    Here’s the test.  I only scored 97%.
Christian Science Monitor - Could you pass a US citizenship test?

  5. Dr. Jeff - #17 asks about the First Amendment - which has nothing to do with the 2nd. Just a bit lower score- 92%. I’ve taken it before - seem to stumble on the same questions - have it narrowed down to 2 and always pick the wrong ones.

On the video - I can remember a Johnny Carson take on that:
Q: What do you think of Red China
A: It would clash with the silverware.
    funny not.

All it depends upon is - who you ask the question to, who you edit into or out of the video, how you ask the question and other such statistic manipulations to get to the point you want to get to. It is the foundation of polling 101.

We all are ‘stupid’ or ignorant on any of a number of subjects. Our current educational system is part of the problem - which seems to be stressing on contained babysitting children from age 5 to 18 rather than any sound basic reading, writing and arithmetic education - much less things like civics and history and common sense.

The asking of pop culture - has the point to ‘show’ what is important to the people, they desire to make appear stupid. But most people will always score higher on it, in America, because everything shoves Cult of Personality Pop Culture down our throats - 24/7/365. It doesn’t mean that those people only focus on that alone. Although it too, reinforces that ‘importance’ of 15 minutes of fame and Money over anything of real substance or even reality.

It is asking what your favorite food is - and then providing only 2 choices. You are not answering truthfully what your favorite food is, you are answering - among the choices provided, what your favorite food is. There is big difference between the two answers.

Imagine if you will - commercials that simply provide basic information on the product or products sold by the store, cost of the item (and then the total cost with taxes, etc) or weren’t meant as entertainment and if PSAs were no longer some pathetic actor but dealt with important civic and economic issues of the day.

How much more then would people of all ages be a bit more ‘smart’.

All of the institutions combine against educating a free and moral population. Their goal now is making everyone a slave to the Federal Government.

I just don’t understand how Independents, Conservatives, Libertarians, and Constitutionalists are not joining together to bring an end to this totalitarian leaning political class now ruling America. The GOP isn’t for us - they are guilty of acts of omission - doing nothing to stop it. At. All. Ever.

And I’m sick and tired of voting for the lesser of two evils or choosing between hemlock or arsenic. America is still circling the drain - and we will all die. I’m just sick of the political class helping it along faster after promising us that they will ‘fix’ the problem.

It’s way past time for a second American revolution and cut it all out, down and back to what America was meant to be Free and Independent. With a small and functional Federal Government.
