How much you want to bet?

  1. UH, I kind of realize that the guy had a knife - but didn’t a single person have a purse, backback or some such to batter this crazed killer to the ground say about stab 2-5 much less waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before 49 or 50 (or the beheading)?!?

This is the world we are facing - when the masses have been nanny stated into indoctrinated helplessness and just sit there while another person is killed (it isn’t like our crazed killer had an uzi to take ‘em all out in one fast spray) - sad, and tragically coming soon to a city or town near you.

His mental illness and/or problem will be blamed on child abuse or war - the only two things going that can cause good pets to go bad. Oops my bad - that’s people - except the nanny state is making ‘em worse than pets as far as using functioning brain cells.

  2. Reminds me of this guy - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8132799/
Crazy Eyes!  The perp on the bus was wearing sunglasses!

    Or how about this one?

Seems there are more shocking crimes in Canada, but this one to happen in front of a bus load of witnesses is truly gruesome!

  3. Wardmama, I gather the knife was huge, like one of those 15” bowie knives. Some of the articles said it was “a giant Rambo knife”. So it was just about a sword. I don’t expect unarmed people to go up against swords. OTOH, if Canada had CCW ...

But you do have a point. Clonk him over the head with a rock while he’s busy stabbing the guy for the 18th time. Too few people carry suitable rocks or lengths of iron pipe these days though.

Also I gather that by the time the bus had stopped the victim was dead.

  4. It would really surprise me if the suspect were not a Muslim.

  5. Hmmm.... I lived in Dallas for 6 years, and for much of that time if I wanted to take a Greyhound bus, I was not allowed to have a knife of any kind on my person. Yes, I mean we were all searched before boarding and my 1 1/2” pocket penknife had to be either thrown away, put in my baggage under the bus, or shipped separately. This went on for about 3+ years after the incident where the Greyhound *driver* was stabbed by a passenger.
Apparently, Greyhound in Canada never got the memo. Or maybe they failed to check *this* guy because doing so would be “profiling.”
Macker, no comment. I’ll grant you that radical Muslims have made beheading their trademark over the last several years, but.... really, the beheading etc. doesn’t say ‘Muslim’ to me, it just says ‘nutcase’. When I was living in New Mexico in the 90’s, there was a hispanic man who beheaded his own son because he claimed the son was ‘possessed by devils’. So while I wouldn’t be *surprised* if it were an off-the-deep-end radical Muslim (nutcase by definition), I likewise won’t be surprised if it were any other kind of off-the-deep-end nutcase either. No bets either way.

For myself, I see this as a golden example of why *everyone* should be allowed to be armed, anywhere and everywhere. Double tap to the head, 2 or 3 seconds after the screaming starts. End of problem, and there’s even a reasonable chance that the victim lives. As far as I’m concerned, the government that declares people are not allowed to be armed under __________ circumstances should be held liable for wrongful death at the very least in cases like this, as they made it a crime to be able to defend oneself.

  6. Exactly, peiper. Granted, the guy just stabbed with a knife (15”?!? That’s not a knife, that’s a freaking shortsword!) is… well, busy, at best. But if he and the stabber are surrounded by 30 or so armed citizens? What’s gonna happen? Are they all gonna freak out, run out of the bus, abandon the guy to his fate and content themselves with just barricading the nutcase inside? Or will there be at least one parent, whose child possibly just witnessed that, who will take the ‘Major Paine’ view?

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

“Well if he’s still in there, he ain’t happy.”

  7. Absolutely chilling.

Pray tell me how the people in charge did NOT notice a large knife, and if so, WHY IN THE HELL was he allowed on? If you’re going to disarm people, at least do it UNIVERSALLY.

Sickening. Can someone tell me why the jury selection hasn’t started yet?
