Yes, this is terrible bathos. If you truly are homeless, alone, and hungry there are places to go and people who will feed you. But there are also some folks who seem to be addicted to certain fast foods and apparently will do anything to get their fix. Since this article doesn’t tell us the whole story - that the woman was actually homeless (by choice?) and an annoying local panhandler - we’re left to form whatever conclusions we want, and I chose the humorous ironic one. In most other towns and cities, the cops would have taken such a person to the local mission and got her some help. In tony Burbank, they busted her, then let her go, probably on the less tony side of town. Gee, thanks for nothing coppers.

1. Proven fact, sorry, that during times of extreme economic hardship prostitution flourihes as a method of getting money/food/medicine/whatever. Prostitution is the SECOND “oldest profession”. Hunting is the first.
