1. Global warming is the Piltdown Man hoax of the 21’st century. Climate has always changed and always will. The global warming Algores of the world are merely using popular ignorance as an instrument of polititcal control.

  2. Global warming is also providing Algore with an income. He’s finally working in the free enterprise market.

As a Geography and U.S. History teacher, I’ve been getting e-mail and snail-mail flyers with special offer “bundles” of Algore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” DVD and teaching materials to use in class. I’ve been deleting these things ASAP. To my knowledge no one here at our large (3200 students) suburban high school has used any of this voodoo science.

I advise all parents to pay attention to what’s being taught to their children. Most of the kids see it as a scam.

  3. The climate is always either getting hotter or cooler. Always has been. Not only is the sun a bit irregular in it's output, the earth wobbles a bit in it's orbit. Precession and all that orbital mechanics stuff.Let's not forget about sunspots, the absence of which lead to rapid global cooling. And, when the sun has more output, it leads to more volcanic activity on earth as well. The whole thing is a big DUR. If you want the kettle to boil faster you either move it closer to the fire or add more fire. Even a really quick bit of graphics work shows a decent correlation between precession and global warming. (rats, I can't figure out how to upload an image to this editor. Take the graph from the precession link, flip it over horizontally, and stretch to fit the timelines in the Skipper's graph. 3 related peak periods are instantly visible)So, are we having glowball warming? Certainly. Is it mankind's - more specifically USA's or George Bush's - fault? Hell no. We might be contributing a teensy tiny bit to it, but more heat is released from 2 or 3 volcanic eruptions than all the trees ever burned by mankind.

  4. Glow-ball warming has always been, is now, and will forever be a scam. Its

But then, there were no moonbat democrats 130,000 years ago…

As they say, follow the money.

  5. Oops, I left out of the top line “It’s 100% pure BS…

Judging from that graph, there must be a new crop of looney leftist liberal moonbats every 110,000 years… Then they destroy themselves and have to start all over again.

Maybe the Klingons, Vulcans and Romulans visit us every 110,000 years and make mischief rasberry

  6. Research into Milankovitch cycles, sunspot cycles, Earth’s axis angle relative to the Pole Star, and the Mayan Death of the Fifth Sun is left as a student excercise. Bottom line is that we are pretty much at the peak of the current inter-glacial period. My guess is that in about 6-10 years, when the astronmers decide that we’ve actually, finally witnessed the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius (2012-2017) then the MSM will go on about global cooling for the next 65,000 years.

  7. I wish I were an expert and might say, with certainty, that it appears that the temperature is pushing the CO2, not visa versa. But since I’m not, I will only comment that it appears that the graph indicates that as the temperature increases or decreases, the CO2 follows the lead.

  8. It’s amazing how a rational analysis can simplify and remove the hysteria from a problem.

The part that interests me the most is that whichever side of the argument is correct, we are likely to have some large changes coming in the climate. If the climate is going to change, we must be ready to deal with it. That is, we must have the technological means to survive the effects of an increased global temperature. Somehow, it seems absurd to me to shut down or hamper our industries rather than turn them loose to find solutions.

  9. 2006 is the hottest year on record… and it looks like at least here in Los Angeles, 2007 will be the opposite- tonight and the next few nights, it is espected to be the coldest nights the city/county has seen in ‘at least fifteen years’.

  10. First of all, “99.9% of experts” is a gross exaggeration and you know it. Climatologists are at present almost evenly divided on the actual impact of humankind on the current changes.

Second, it is not “my” graph but happens to cme from climate research climatologists. Follow the link if you don’t believe me.

Third, which experts predict it will go up and on what do they base these “predictions” other than pure guesswork?

Fourth, jumping in here with baseless accusations in order to promote your own stupid, “chicken little” blog is really sleazy. Take it somewhere else, asshole. We only listen to honest opinion that is backed up by facts at this blog.
