  3. You know its a sad and pathetic day for a news program when the new “newscaster” is the news.  And, no, I didn’t watch Katie’s grand evening entrance.  I’m with badger...I’ll start watching broadcast news when the newscasters and reporters start showing some skin!  surprised

  4. Who?

  5. Katie took the NBC’s Today down into the entertainment gutter of fluff and worthlessness and now she will do it to the CBS Evening News. I guess that her last stop will be to a ABC late night news show - wait those are already entertainment fluff and biased worthlessness.

No, I can’t remember when I last watched a network evening news program. Each of the networs has one or two programs that I like to catch - otherwise my TV viewing has seriously plummetted in recent years. It is sad that the ‘winner’ programs are kept on way past their life spans (Survivor, American Idol and that really hasbeen ER) they are becoming mere imatations of their former greatness.

Perhaps the TV industry might want to hire a person or two who is over 25. Even my 18 year old daughter who went somewhat crazy when we blocked MTV, said it is terrible (now we can’t block for her). Sad when your target audience doesn’t care for what you are providing.

  6. Now I heard on the radio that “Cute Katie” is looking for a tagline to end each newscast.  I thought of two for her:

    1) Death to America you Red State trogs.

    2) I’m hurrying home to Satan - my hot Daddy of Love!

  7. Didn’t see it, don’t care.

Mary Mapes pulled the same sort of crap here in Seattle years ago.

“A Shot in the Dark,” Mapes’ first major known hoax, which she produced in 1988 (and which aired on April 14, 1988) [on KIRO tv - my note] in cahoots with her husband, alleged reporter Mark Wrolstad (now with the Dallas Morning News), while at CBS’ Seattle affiliate KIRO, got her her ticket to ride to CBS’ New York “Black Rock” headquarters, where she began working closely with CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather. In “Shot,” Mapes sought to destroy the career and life of Bob Lisoski, a diligent, big-hearted, Seattle policeman. Though the white officer’s fatal February 17, 1988 shooting of black drug dealer Erdman Bascomb was determined to have been a justified if tragic use of force, Mapes, the facts be damned, used the fraudulent claims of nearby drunk Wardell Fincher, who had not witnessed the shooting, to portray the police officer as a racist murderer. Seattle Post-Intelligencer reporter Michael A. Barber and photographer Gilbert W. Arias uncovered Fincher’s fraud; they had accompanied police on the bust, and encountered the drunken Fincher as he wandered out of the weeds after the shooting, asking the journalists what had happened.

But, these are mere facts, of no interest to the lefties.

  8. Only TV news I can stomach is Fox, and I think they do a piss poor job. There is so much going on all over the world every day, but they focus on just one to three stories and cycle and cycle and cycle. Plus far too many talk group shows and the never ending Greta with her daily WWWA. CNN has on more actual news, but their bias is unbearable. For actual world news I sometimes catch the BBC World News. Mostly I get my info off the internet. That means visiting a dozen sites or more each day, which can take a lot of time.

Why can’t there just be a news show? Agenda free, with only minor pro host-country nationalism? Sure, stock it with babes and hunks, why not? Honestly, I’m tired of the slant from both left and right.
