  1. Hurray!!

I think these ships are getting a bit old though. Time for a new design or a new approach?

  2. Why don’t we do it the other way around as in C. M. Kornbluth’s “The Marching Morons” and send them up to the stars. Actually, just one star. Would you buy that for a quarter?

  3. Skipper - the doom and gloom are the liberal loonies who have to keep negative going to justify their need to governmentalize/tax everything. If they ever admitted how good things were in America - they’d lose power, money and credibility.

But I agree, a new system is needed. We need to kick the space program up a notch. It would increase jobs and money flowing back and forth. But the whinners are going to scream on about poverty, uninsured, unemployed, etc. etc as much more needed than a space program. Funny that they forget (once again) it was their last great Democrat who inspired this program into reality and success. Too damn bad they got caught up in social programs that just suck out taxpayer money and are utter failures.

  4. Watched the landing via NASA TV and the last 2 minutes of the flight they showed Pilot’s view from the HUD camera. Very cool to watch the altimeter and speed wind down. The microphones also picked up the sonic booms. I sure wish to have a crack at space flight someday.

  5. I love hearing the twin sonic booms when they get home. It’s always 3 minutes before they land. I heard them just after I heard them on fox.

I agree that we need something new, hopefully something that doesn’t look so clunky.

  7. No problems with Apollo except for when NASA decided to go stupid and do a test with a capsule full of oxygen.. and Apollo 13 but it made it.. look at the top candidate to replace the shuttle and it looks like NASA figured that out.. but I think after Columbia, all the remaining shuttles should’ve just been sent to Musuems and work begun full speed ahead on the replacement..
