  1. Skipper,

I couldn’t agree more with most of your post.  Since it has been many moons since I have been to a theater, and will be many more before I give those ‘idjuts’ any more of my money, I’ll have to take your recommendations at face value since I have seen none of them.

I can assure you, I will not spend even one second of my life watching this masturbatory frenzy.

Especially the piece of fiction that will probably be rewarded for best documentary.  I’m thinking of it as fiction at best, and piss-poor science at worst.

um, Oh, I forgot, if he hadn’t invented the internet, we couldn’t be having this conversation.

  3. just like Michael Moore and his Fakumentry winning AL Gore was a shoe-in with his Fakumentry, you should’ve guessed that.. Hollywood is too liberal to let that lose…
Guess I need to watch movies more.. but I didn’t care to watch Gore’s Boramentry.. it actually had Music? and won an oscar for Music??????????????? ohh geez.. ok.. that seals it.. Gore getting a music oscar for his crazy movie for Music by Melissa Etheridge..pull the Liberal hat trick and award music to a Lesbian that did music for Gore’s movie so she can get up and thank her wife and their 4 children.....
    her acceptance speech below

Wow, that feels as good as you think it does. I have to thank my incredible wife Tammy and our four children, Beckett and Bailey and Johnnie Rose and Miller. And everyone I’ve ever worked with. Just thank you, I love you, you know. And all the incredible people that worked on this film and gave so much. But mostly, I have to thank Al Gore for inspiring us, inspiring me, showing that caring about the Earth is not Republican or Ddemocrat. It’s not red or blue, we are all green. This is our job. Now we can become the greatest generation, the generation that changed, the generation that woke up and did something and changed. I love you all. Thank you Academy, this is great. Thank you.

  4. "CARS” didn’t win best Animated Feature?, boo, hiss, the fix is in !
Ah well, couldn’t win, could it?...on the surface it’s about “redneck nascar racing” and at it’s core, about traditional values.

“One note” lesbo Melissa Etheridge gets an Oscar for a song from “Glow-bull” Al’s fauxumentary?...r-i-g-h-t.  crazy

  5. keep in mind that the people voting on the awards are the members of the Academy (and no one else)

  6. I have stopped going to the theater and only see new movies on DVD rented from the $2 video store in order to limit Whollyweird’s take.  With a large screen TV and surround sound and a comfy recliner, the only thing missing from my movie experience is the lines, the overpriced snacks and the L.D.O. (loud, dumb, obnoxious) assholes talking over the movie.

No surprise that the Film Actors Guild gave The Goracle an Oscar.

    Stupid is as stupid does.

  7. Consider thatthe exhibitor takes 50% of your movie ticket, and the ‘conservative’ (according to my instructor) business side gets 15%, before the filmmaker (and his investors, if any) get to ‘make a profit’.

    I’m jus sayin....

  8. Right now we just get dvds from the library - I’m letting the blockbuster ‘rewards’ card expire (and not renew) and a tad miffed at Hollywood too. This area is killing any local ‘mom & pop’ type stores. Used to love the one in KY had a Dollar day on Wednesday - a lot less painful than what is usually being charged.

The last movie we saw in a theater was Flags of Our Fathers, we got the tickets from the local VFW through a friend (my hubby’s a vet but not a FW vet). . .

I usually don’t watch the awards shows, but as of late when it is all about politics - why bother?
