Obviously this whole thing was not thought through (so typical of government). Imagine all that food gone to waste (OK, a simple blood test of say a random 10% - while the birds themselves are on ice) - could feed a lot of hungry and/or auctioned off to help the city coffers which I am sure are running in the red. While I agree that the cost is horrid and again typical of government - I know that it was done that way to keep the hippies at bay until the end.
Here’s the hypocrisy of the whole deal - the enviro-wackos have probably lead to this goose problem (we have a nice little group out by where my hubby worked in 2007 - but I admit at times, it is an accident waiting to happen as they flock across the roads - in a busy area) - by cutting down/out goose hunting and then the other hypocrisy - I bet every single one of the goose teary eyed funeral attendees - is for abortion. And not a one of them sees the greater shame, the greater hypocrisy of grieving more for an animal than a human.
God Help America.
Ditto, wardmama4.....
All that beautiful goose meat probably went to waste.
I used to LOVE to make roast goose for Christmas, but last year they were hiked up to an outrageous $60 each and I simply had to refuse to buy one.
Far better than dark turkey meat!!
