  1. That guy in the orange pants in the slow motion?  I didn’t think he could make that shot.
The ball went all the way across to the right and then suddenly turned like it had a wheel operated by remote, and took all the pins down. Wow.

  2. that’s the idea! I can only do about 2/3 of that with a full speed ball. thrown really slow, it’s easy to take the ball all the way to the right edge and then back across the whole lane and into the gutter, before the ball even reaches the pins.

Ok, it isn’t “easy”, but I’ve been doing this for >6 years now, so it’s not hard for me. But I want to get to the next level, because everyone who can average 220+ throws the big giant hook ball. Every one. With mad revs. I’m highly accurate with a low rev gently arcing ball thrown down the middle 2/3 of the lane. I can hit the 1-3 pin pocket 48 times out of 50 from most reasonable places and speeds on the approach, but I only get strikes 1 in 3 throws. High angle hook simply does a better job; double the success rate compared to the classic gentle arc shot. You want to really compete, you have to throw 8 or 9 or more in a row, every single game.
