Quick question from the OINK. How clearly are we going to differentiate the following?:
1. To be a nation, there must be some controls on entry of outsiders.
2. We don’t like Mexicans. They’re dirty, brown, and they smell bad. And they have big families.

Legal Immigration is good, illegal immigration is a crime. Plain and simple…

The thing is, we shouldn’t pick and choose which laws to enforce and which can be ignored because (and this could be debated) they would have a negative effect on the economy. My mommy and daddy taught me that you did what was right and you followed the rules regardless of personal consequence.
Besides, I have a hard time understanding why it is compassionate to allow/encourage an entire underground society that has very little protection under the law. Is it really a good thing to look the other way so we can pay Maria $10 a day to watch our kids so that doesn’t interfere with tennis at the club?
"right-on” to every post so far. My comment is, I have heard all the arguments and seen the demonstrations. I agree that it is just flat WRONG to ignore the problem, and I’m getting more PISSED by the minute. What I haven’t heard is what is anyone going to DO about it? ... besides trying to talk it to death, which is the typical method of most of our elected officials!

Sent a letter to my congresscritter last week. Never heard anything from him. So today I dropped him a note advising him that me and mine probably wouldn’t have the time to be voting for any republicans for the next few cycles. We’re going to be too busy setting up the survival compound where I hope to ride out the coming war…

I agree with Becca. And this one is dangerously close to racist. Or “No Irish or Dogs Allowed”. Or “Evil Eastern Bankers” which is code for Jews. Let’s focus on the illegal aspect, not that, like the Irish, Italians, Polish they tend to be undereducated and under-bathed.

1. Get control of the borders.
2. Enforce the law as presently written.
3. Decide what to do with illegals already here. (Why spend money to deport when it would be cheaper to fine and then assimilate them into society?)Then keep the ones we’re going to keep and deport the rest and prevent those from returning.
4. Get on with our lives.I’m sorry if this sounds racist, it’s not meant to be. I’m all for immigration. I think that we would not be as good as shape as we are without the immigration that has occurred in the past. However, the southern border has never been watched very closely in the past. The states bordering Mexico have worried with the problem for years and for the most part have just learned to accept the situation and live with it. The INS has always been very much short-handed and underfunded on the South end. Mexican officials south of the border turn a blind eye and pocket their bribes (if they are included)add to this the liberals sounding the PC BS and then funding the illegals and you have the makings of a disaster.
BTW, where did these kids get the ideas and the money for the protests? Is anyone looking for that?
Oink you’re right. Unfortunately it can be perceived as bordering on racism when certain ethnic groups are targetted. However we can also fall into the liberal trap of not targetting particular groups lest we offend them. A difficult problem indeed.
Having experienced US immigration first hand I am baffled as to why the situation has gotten so out of hand. I have to say my dealings with US immigration have never been on a very friendly basis. You Americans have no idea just how unpleasant some of the Immigration officers can be at your borders. Yet at the same time they are harrassing genuine visitors/immigrants they turn a blind eye to millions of lawbreakers.
In Britain we are faced with similar problems but our illegals come from all over the place and worryingly the vast majority are muslims. The government here has failed abysmally to get a grip on the situation and hundreds of thousands of illegals remain because they are too incompetant to address the situation. It may not sound much compared to 11 Million but remember Britain is not much bigger than Iowa. Population of Iowa maybe 3 million. Population of Britain 60 million, so it represents a significant percentage on what is already an overcrowded island. We get the same bullshit excuses that it’s good for the economy. Good for the economy my arse. maybe if we got rid of these people we could get some of the 3 million work shy, living on benefits deadbeats back to work!
If I were King of America (just saying is all!) I would boot the lot out damn the cost.

I agree, secure the borders. Then stop aid to offending countries by percentage of illegals (if 90% of our illegals are Mexican, Mexico loses 90% of it’s aid from us) and/or charge the offending countries for healthcare, education, criminal justice and public assistance costs (once again, that can come out of aid to that country).
How ‘bout this - if you want to fast track to American citizen - you serve America - either in the Peace Corps or the military??? Or of course your 3rd choice is - you can get a ticket home.
Amnesty is not only treason, it insults each and every immigrant who did it legally. Which is a lot of the ancestors of this country.
PS - ENGLISH is the Offical Language of America.
PPS - The ‘demonstrations’ are being promoted by Mexican radio/tv stations and these ‘immigrants’ are being encouraged (perhaps financially) by Answer and a few other groups. They are planning a big deal on May 1st [traditional communist holiday].Forget it, deport them all. The bus/plane tickets will certainly be cheaper than the educational, healthcare, public assitance and criminal justice monies the real hard working American taxpayers would be shelling out for this bunch.
If these people are so damn hardworking and great - how come they aren’t hardworking and great in their own country? If they are so proud of their culture, how come they aren’t proud in their own country?
