  1. Freedom of Speech implies a Freedom to Offend and a Freedom to Ignore. The latter is not exercised enough - too many absurdities are taken seriously by too many people, primarily those of the politically correct persuasion paying too much attention to the perpetually indignant.

To expand: It is reasonable to expect acceptance from the general public of legal activities or situations. It is unreasonable to demand or imply that all must validate all legal activities or situations. For those who are uncertain, uncomfortable or just naturally indignant - anything short of validation and praise is an insult.

At some point the Western powers have got to stop being “reasonable”.  Freedom and tolerance works only when the populace enjoys mutual freedom and tolerance. It is not a good idea to tolerate those who wish to remove freedom and tolerance from the social structure. There are absolutes and we have to stop being bullied by those perpetually indignant members of a “minority” when they express offense over being exposed to things or words they don’t like or are banned by their religion.  “Hate speech” laws create both euphemisms and protected classes that are more equal than the general populace.

Laws should be objectively fair, structured for and enforceable across the entire population. For instance, we do not condone slavery (de jure or de facto) including any ownership “rights” regarding family members and should not allow it to persist within enclaves here just because it is accepted in a group’s culture. We are not insulting any culture by enforcing our country’s laws even though the subject action or behavior is considered normal in another country or culture.

  2. Heh, I had no idea anyone even bothered to note that existence of a World boxing title anymore.Over here it’s fight club this and UFC that. Boxing is the ugly step child of pugilistic sport these day.
As to your guy, well, what ya gonna do, a redneck view of women and the world doesn’t always come from Alabama and Mississippi.
    YEEHAAA,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  3. A redneck view? Seems to me ... without reading the article at the link ... that the guy’s Bible based worldview is his choice. It may not be the smartest choice BUT ... if this guy was a muzzie he would believe EXACTLY THE SAME and nobody would have the nads to say a goddamn thing.

The paedo bit I agree with, I’m against that, although I think it’s bloody high time the West wake up to the reality of teen sexuality and modernize those laws. “Sex Offender” is just too big and vague. Big huge gap between assaulting children and teenagers getting frisky. Grand Canyon sized. The first bit to go would be registering sex offenders. Totally un-Con. Keep them in jail forever, execute them if you must, or free them on a finite length parole. But after that period is up, they have paid their debt to society. “Megan’s Law” is cruel and unusual punishment, period. Bye bye. After that we look at “statutory” which is mostly a load of crap, angry dads who can’t accept that Princess has round heels, out to punish the boys their own wanton daughters seduced. And teen girls ALWAYS want older guys. ALWAYS.

Abortion? I surrender. First, being male I’ll never have one, so it’s none of my damn business. I have no say in it legally currently, so it seems fair that I ought to be out of the responsibility loop too, more or less. But it’s been the law for 43 years here, and it would take moving mountains to get rid of it. Ain’t gonna happen. Shut up, sit down, move on.

Homos? Who gives a fart? Just don’t get all pervy in front of me and the kids, and we’ll all be happy. The latest trend towards 50 Shades of Gender ... whataloadashit. STFU. There are fewer combinations at Starbucks. Don’t dress like a freak around me either, and we’ll all be happier. If you want to tattoo your wanker blue, inflate your saggy old nutsack, and run around naked, do it in your own home, not in a city-wide “pride” parade that exists only to offend everyone else. Freak.

  5. I was making a point without a difference actually. grayjohn is on the same page and I see no need to post a manifesto over some pugilists rant about his Christain beliefs.
    Abortion,Icky.
    Pedophilia, Worthy of death.
Fags, Not an issue worth wasting breath on.
Women as married slaves, if you can convince an American woman to commit to That, your amazing.
    All the rest is ACK.

  6. As a fellow Christian Methinks that Tyson Fury- for someone who claims to read the Bible- could do better with (re?)reading Acts. I’m pretty sure Lydia wasn’t praised for only being “in the kitchen or on her back” (though she could and would be both).

But let’s be honest here. Even if we accept as a given that this guy is a stupid, offensive, ignorant lunkhead (and I wager I would be more open to the proposition than most of you… Great Biblical Studies 101 Tyson)...... So What?

Part of this “evil” Free World of ours is that we are free to BE stupid, ignorant, and offensive. God might censure what we do with our free will and judge it, but he’s rarely if ever going to outright get in the way or stop us from doing it. And if the gutless wretches who claim to be oh so torn up about this guy really believe in freedom..... well, first WHY THE HECK are they looking at THIS GUY- a sports person who has almost certainly had nil effect in the world and almost certainly always will- when half the Middle East tortures and executes people for this stuff, The Chinese Dictatorship spent the last decade forcibly aborting MILLIONS of girls and boys (and often their mothers), and Putin’s pretensions to be the pretender of Christian Civilization (Even though he couldn’t recognize it if a saint slapped him over the forehead) has gotten hundreds of thousands of people Killed in a way that Tyson Fury- to the best of my knowledge- has not and probably never will.

I’m talking letting an AIDS epidemic spiral out of control worse than many Subsaharan African countries because he thinks the (alleged) status of the victims as “degenerates” or “sinners” and PR trumps basic public safety. Stuff that even the flipping Massachusetts Bay Theocrats (who were no saints themselves) spat out when they literally PREACHED the unknown and somewhat dangerous Inoculation as a divine command.

Maybe the 50,000 people who wasted their time trying to ostracize Tyson could have done better if they actually looked at the Bible.

Or- God Forbid- focused on some of the ACTUAL problems the world has.
