Heartbroken parents of drowned toddler question Disneyland Paris.

I might have read this all wrong but it just seems like they let the kid wander off.  If not that, then they weren’t very observant.
I guess that’s easy for me to say and really I am not making light of this.  I just have a hard time understanding why he wasn’t watched a bit more.
The child had autism, of which there are many forms.  But he had a problem communicating?  So wouldn’t that be reason to keep a sharper eye on things?
Or were the parents making special efforts not to make a special case of a child with autism.  Were they acting as though everything was normal when in fact things were not normal.  I think they share some of the responsibility here, and especially with this particular child.

  1. Some people seem to have abandoned all responsibility for their actions.  This couple seems to be following the “Kate McCann” syndrome- screw up your family big-time then criticize everyone else.  They shouldn’t be given the time of day and child welfare authorities should apprehend the rest of the children and place them with responsible folks…

  2. These people fail to realize that once the Muslims take over France (as they’re in the process of accomplishing), Disneyland Paris will be amongst the first Infidel meccas to go.

  3. Sounds like a crock to me- You have a kid with autism but let him out of your sight long enough to drown?

I have a normal 8 year girl who I DON’T let out of my sight as a single parent no matter what.

Yet were to believe that this poor child was only out of sight for a few moments? And is discovered not by the parents but a stranger?

I hope the hotel has security cameras because something stinks.

  4. Not being a parent or having that experience, I wasn’t certain at first if my comments were valid at all.  It just seemed as stated by you folks that there is a lack of responsibility here.  McCann’s a very good example btw.  I thought the papers would never stop covering that story.  Here are two well educated professional and certainly loving parents who leave that little girl alone for an hour or so and poof ... she’s gone when they come home.

Were I a parent my attitude would be exactly that of gdonovan. And I don’t care what the hell the occasion or reason, I would never leave a baby alone like that. It defies any sort of logic.  If I know better then that, I have a very hard time understanding how these people (McCanns included) did not.
