Justin Webb is a turd of the first water.
Hi L.
I had never heard of this guy before today. But I thought the article was interesting especially as I thought he missed s few things along the way.
If he works for the BBC, shouldn’t he be earning enuff for private ins.?
Or ... and I’m lost on this. Is national health an entitlement here no matter what your earnings?
Don’t know about Webb’s personal qualities nor about the private insurance possibilities in the UK - I do know that having seen the German system (pre-unification) up close and having lived with both the civilian & governmental American system - I do agree that:
But American technology and zest for lifestyle improvements in the area of diabetes, as in every other area of human endeavour (a zest born out of zest for profit)
is what saved our youngest son’s life - and how dare Obama attempt to destort, disrupt and possibly destroy that system - for his own ego.
Fix the problems - start with one and then move on - don’t tear down the entire system - most especially since the ‘reasons’ that this idiot uses are distortions, lies and not part of the real problems.
He is now on the Today program on Radio Four or as most of us BBC haters call it “the Toady” show. I’m sure he could afford private insurance, but as a Beeboid it would be idealogically unsound. NHS is for everyone regardless of means but the “National Insurance” tax tapers off above a certain level of income. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_insurance http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?type=RESOURCES&itemId=1073790796 it is a bit complicated!
L. I turned on the radio late last night for no other reason then a bit of news I wasn’t gonna pay attention to anyway. I read in bed a lot and then eyes get tired so I turn on the radio for awhile. Well, what I caught was a debate on things green AND NHS. The two hot topics it seems. So there was this screechy very fast talking woman from the green party
who attacked this fellow who was once a GP, when he suggested that surely many patients could pay say, £10.00 for a doctors visit. He was suggesting some sort of co-pay.
But one quickly gets to understand the mindset here with her OTT reaction. I see nothing wrong with ppl paying something to help offset the costs which as I understand it, are out of control. But she started to bleat about all the poor ppl who may not have ten pounds to spend. So he tried (but she wasn’t listening)to explain that some of course would be exempt.
