  1. Labor Day marks the end of a serious drought of three day weekends. Its the beginning of a six month period where US workers have at least one three day weekend every month from now through February.

    Monday, September 3 Labor Day
    Monday, October 8 Columbus Day
    Monday, November 12 Veterans Day
    Thursday, November 22 Thanksgiving Day
    Tuesday, December 25 Christmas Day
Monday, January 1 New Year’s Day
Monday, January 21 Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
    Monday, February 18 Washington’s Birthday
    ------------------------------------------
    Monday, May 26 Memorial Day
    Friday, July 4 Independence Day

If one were inclined to sit around the house in their pajamas collecting unemployment for six months, now is not the time to maximize your benefits.
