  1. Happy Easter to everyone…

    and while we’re at it…

let’s wish a Happy Birthday to our beloved Pope Benedict XVI, who turns 79 today.

  2. Happy Easter, it’s nice to see religious reference to a religious holiday rather than the purely secular references. Since you did not show candy or eggs, I will even let the bunny pass.

  3. Thanks, Wardmama. I always post the religious significance. The bunny was purely an afterthought in case someone’s kids wandered in. I never have figured out where the whole bunny/egg/candy thing came from anyway. Maybe someone can enlighten me ... ?

    question

  4. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

  5. The egg came from a first century A.D. tradition.  Early Christians were forbidden to eat eggs during Lent, so Easter was the first opprotunity fir them to eat them again, since Lent ends on Easter.  From that came the Easter eggs.

    The chocolate, well, who knows.
