I wish I could blow 8 hours on sleep - I used to be able to do that, remember when the youngest two were pre-school - afternoon nap was a must - and during the winter, I went to sleep too. I can’t even sleep at night much longer than 5 hours - so forget during the day. Oh well, here’s hoping it’s just this crazy weather - we had monsoons yesterday, today it is much cooler - rather than something more serious.
BTW, getting old sucks.
I went back to bed and slept until 5, woke up with the sweats. Soaked. Got a towel for the pillow, took some more pills, slept until 10:30. Still feel rather wrung out. Feel like I could go back to sleep! Phew, need a shower too. Pain and sinus seem to be gone. I hope.
Hot whiskey’s do the trick.
Get a glass.
Put a healthy spoonful of sugar into it.
Add a nice slice of lemon with a dozen cloves stuck in it.
Then add a nice amount of whisky. Irish, scotch or even American Rye.
Fill up the rest of the glass with almost boiling water.
Stir and let cool a little bit, not too much.
Drink down, not too slowly or too fast.
REPEAT THE ABOVE ABOUT 4 TO 6 TIMES.
Take two aspirins and get under the duvet (comforter) fall asleep. You’ll sweat a lot so be sure to wear sweat pants and a sweat shirt. You don’t want to ruin the bed sheets.
This method has helped me through numerous health problems the Irish winters have caused over the past 18 years.
Thankfully, I’ll be in North Carolina this coming winter and won’t have to go through the sweat-it-out business.........I’ll miss the hot whiskeys though.
Hope you feel better soon buddy.
Well something must be catching: but from this distance?
Take care of yourself.
Does this mean I have to go out (in bad weather) and get you a get well card? LOL.
Hope you’ll be normal very quickly.
Still sick I think. Crap.
