  1. And do you have any faith at all that the Republicans in power in Hawaii and Massachusetts are any further right than wobbly-RINO? So it’s a slam dunk, except for Alaska.

  2. I’m not sure this is a big problem. At least it didn’t seem to be back my youth.

‘78-’80 I had absentee ballots sent to me at college. Never was a problem.

‘80-’86 absentee ballots always found me in the Navy. Even if on WestPac deployment.

I must admit though; I always asked for an absentee ballot way longer than 45 days in advance.

If there is a ‘problem’ it’s probably the absentee voter’s fault for not requesting a ballot in time. 45 days probably isn’t enough time to make it to a ship on deployment and back again.

Just my thoughts on experiences a quarter-century old now.

  3. I WISH we had a Republican governor and senate here in Mass.

  4. OT: Why do my posts here always show me with a German flag?  Some of my ancestors were German, but I’m all American. ;)

  5. EmZ - that’s the country code thing that is built into the blog engine. It’s been like that for some time now. Is it limited to Comcast ISPs? I don’t know. Did the internet come up with new country codes? I don’t know. For 2 years it had me in Germany too, and I was never even close to a bowl of sauerkraut the entire time. So ignore it.

  6. Maybe the military will get pissed off finally and occupy Washington and send the government to jail and we can start all over.

  7. Chris - the state is supposed to send out a form to request an Absentee Ballot to anyone who voted Absentee (I think it is 2 elections in a row) - I would say that depends upon - who is in charge and if it is in the State/Local election rules. Our state is good but has gone over to the dark side lately - sending everyone AB requests. And as a Poll Worker - I’ve seen people come in carrying their AB with them - DOH! (And these people get to vote?!?)

The problem with the military is that usually the Voter guy is an assigned duty and the person could give a damn less about being anything close to vigilant about it. I have had to go search (as a dependent) for the apps many, many times.

And the obvious reason heavily Dem states do not want to comply with the law is that military adjusting out (in general pop & in the military - the demographic of 18-24 yo men is a crappy turnout probably identical percent in both groups) the vote rate for military is 70% - which exceeds the general population by about 15-12% (2008s historic election notwithstanding).

Rush talked about this in the past couple of weeks - after all the ACORN & NBP folly of 2008 - we will be seeing more ‘soft’ cheating/fraud as the obvious stuff won’t fly anymore.

Simply because the Dems/Progressive/Liberal agenda can not compete on ideas, is not the majority and would be completely and utterly trounced from Local to POTUS if they ever said what they mean and mean what they say.

And the vile guttersnipe know it.
