Skipper: I’m with you on France and the New York Times building but let’s not be to hasty on the UN. We could just withhold our UN dues and raise their rent.
I feel comfortable taking “high” New York rents from a bunch of third world countries and brutal dictators so they can pretend we are listening.
If the UN can’t keep up with the rent we can turn that property into condos. Of course the entire building will have to be steam cleaned and the sand monkeys’ floors will need to be chemically disinfected.
Call me a moderate.
This is only another instance of straining out gnats while swallowing camels.
As usual.
Z, the trouble with taking rents from third world countries is that the money largely came from us to begin with, usually in the form of ill-guided “foreign aid.”
I’m with the Skipper. And while we are about it, let us shut down the tinpot boulevard of “foreign aid.”
They will do and say anything to draw attention away from the UN’s own continuing malfeasance.
I’m still in favor of an organization of (truly) democratic nations.
I stand corrected Tann.
Steel had the NYT’s article posted here this past week. I read the whole thing, and the whole time I was reading it, all I could think about what was the hell was the NYT thinking about. They are vultures feeding on the carrion of our dead soldiers with the intent to make more fodder for the vultures. I believe in a free press, but god, screw the NYT. Then the U.N.
With every freedom comes a corresponding responsibility It appears that the NY Slimes and their fellow travellers feel that they are above that.
I understand that this “news” is two years old. They seem to have dug it up to sustain NewsWeak’s recent crime.
Stink,
That just makes it all the more abhorrent and appalling.
