I would hazard a guess that this french ‘car’ design company has never heard of ‘aerodynamics’ and ‘crash resistance’.
Looks like a rolling lawsuit generator.
Draven, having found myself in Paris stuck with the worst tour pack ever put together - watching french drivers at a sidewalk cafe was infinately more enjoyable. Paris did not (as this was ‘82) use ‘walk’ lights - it was look both ways and dash. And people drive just about as aggressively as they did in Italy - which meant before we’d even touched our cokes - there was an accident with it’s incumbent argument.
The French may be wusses, but when it comes to an accident, they can argue with the best of ‘em.
I remember the French cars which were just a step above the plastic recyled cars from the Soviet block. When you combine lousy carmaking with enviro-wacko car making, I guess this is what you get.
It’s the high technology, I went to design college, version of the little jitney you see all over asia. I’m amazed it doesn’t have pedals. Not much need for aerodynamics if it only goes 30mph, but some sort of side curtains might be nice in case of rain. No heat either, nor any place to secure your stuff. And the A pillar looks like it would create an enormous blind spot at 10 and 2, making it really hard to see other vehicles turning corners towards you. The little propeller beanie thingy on top gives it major nerd appeal.
Laugh all you want, but something like this is going to become common within the next decade. Short distance, high efficiency, low cost super tiny vehicles are perfect for urban environments, especially if they don’t pollute and run quietly. OTOH, with the proper gears a 250cc motorcycle engine could provide equal performance and run all day on 2 gallons of gas.
I followed the link ... you can buy one right now for only $30,000. Once they ramp up production expect the price to drop to $20,000. No thanks.
Even at 30 mph, drag is a consideration. and the no weather protection/no theft protection mean its only likely to be seen next to the existing glorified golf carts used in yuppie subdivisions.
I’ve never seen those things Draven, but they sound like a good idea. Got a link or a brand name or something?
ugh, can’t remember the brand. They are at least reasonably dependable tho, the USAF was using wem to cart people around at the Edwards airshow.
These cars will never catch on in France. There’s hardly anything on it that the Moslem rioters can burn so it will be called discrimiatory to the holy Moslem race.
i agree with wardmama4, i once had to drive thru the Place de l’Etoile during evening rush hour, and i much prefer sitting behind a half-liter of beer at the Bar George V, watching them try to drive and park.
about 20 years ago, i tried driving in Rome too, i managed to get it parked in from of the door at the Grand Hotel, walked inside, called Avis, and said “come and get it, i’m thru”.
Ou est le cheval
(where is the horse)…
Looks more like a geeknerd’s idea of a lawnmower…
i’m with Draven, attach a golf bag holder on the back, drop the price, and maybe ya got something…
