Ok, I can understand the need to protect the enviroment, and to conserve our resources. However, this is just beyond the pale. I support the idea of conserving the enviroment by increasing the efficiency of our technology and trying to strike a balance between the needs of the human race and how much strain we put on our natural resources. It seems like these guys are dropping such a difficult and complicated system in favor of simply “disposing of” those who have outlived their “share” of the planet’s resources.
I can only say that this reminds me of two movies I have recently seen. The first is Logan’s Run.
The second is Life is Beautiful. Specifically the “math problem” mentioned at the dinner.
Chilling.
Today, it may be merely be an unsettling feature on a website. Tommorow, it may STILL be that.
But next year?
Even worse is a quote from the horrifying but insightful butcher of the USSR, Vladimir Illych Lenin.

I love it - the religious ‘right’ (i.e. fundamentalists) can mention armageddon, the rapture and/or end times - and be branded nuts forever. These people intentionally warp kids toward hating their parents, hating their livestyle and hating themselves - and hey they are the ‘good guys’ simply because they have good intentions.
Such utter bs and hypocrisy.
I wonder if it ever backfires. You know, “Planet Slayer? Can I get a Death Star of my very own? COOL!!!!”
Actually what it reminds me of is an article I’ve only seen in the front pages of “The Poor Man’s James Bond Vol. I” titled, “Carrying Capacity as an Ethical Concept.” About how if the inefficiency of a people’s tech and culture is causing them to live beyond the carrying capacity of their land, and they are therefore starving, feeding them does them no favors. It just means there will be a larger population to starve NEXT year. In order to actually solve the problem, you have to show them how to adjust their tech and culture so as to increase the carrying capacity of their land. Kinda like the Californians did when they decided they could use electricity to make water, and ended up growing grapes and Christmas trees in the desert.
But of course, that assumes that it’s possible for technology to solve a problem rather than just contributing to or causing it, so you’ll never see a reference to anything like that on THAT kind of website.

and how come 0% car usage paid for by work and Fuel Guzzler = less Tonnes CO2 then I Don’t Usually use a car? seems flawed…

Going through it I was about expecting, 1 prompting me if you were to commit suicide would you choose to slash your wrists, use a pistol or by carbon monoxide in the Garage.....sorry I’d much rather use a paper towel then a hair dryer to dry my hands and then have to use my shirt to finish drying them.. only have come across a few hand blowers that do much to dry hands in a hurry..
